Giving Back to Our Community

LGC is committed to supporting families and students in our local Chicagoland communities. Here are several ways in which we are honored to give back.

Stevenson High School Foundation

LGC is honored to support the SHS Foundation in a variety of ways. LGC has provided pro bono ACT/SAT tutoring for students in the Stevenson to College (S2C) program every year since 2019, and founder Laura George has served on the SHS Foundation's Development Committee since 2020. In addition, LGC has served as the title sponsor of the Foundation's Annual Online Raffle and Auction each February since its inception in 2020, and our team is also proud to sponsor other Foundation events such as the Drive Fore Dreams Golf Outing and Move-A-Thon, which raise money in support of vital Foundation programs such as S2C, Kids in Need (KIN), and Stevenson: One Family.

Beyond Sports Foundation

Beyond Sports Foundation empowers Chicagoland student-athletes by providing professional development, academic advancement, athletic training, and community service. As a board member since 2016, Laura George has supported the growth of the program in many ways and specializes in providing guidance to BSF staff and its student-athletes regarding tutoring and preparing for college. Laura provides parent/ student education presentations, pro bono tutor training for BSF tutors, and corporate donations from LGC to help fund BSF programs.

Barrington 220 School District

As a small business in the Barrington community, LGC is honored to provide pro bono tutoring, college essay guidance, and college consulting assistance to first generation to college/underserved students from Barrington High School. LGC works directly with representatives of School District 220/BHS to identify students in need of assistance.

Lake Forest High School Foundation Business Incubator Program

Laura George has served as a mentor to teams of Lake Forest High School student entrepreneurs as part of the LFHS Foundation Business Incubator Program since 2020. Laura’s 2021-22 team, Brush Bestie, has achieved unprecedented success in this program, traveling to SXSW in Austin TX to showcase their product, appearing on WGN for an interview, and securing an offer from a merchandising company to produce their product, which is a four-in-one makeup brush tool.
